There's a particular hour in late summer when the balcony goes gold — the sun drops low enough to slide under the neighbor's awning and everything, including the very tired basil, looks flattering for about twenty minutes.
I've been meaning to start this blog for a while. Not for an audience, really, just as a place to put things that don't fit anywhere else: half-finished thoughts, a photo of something I grew, a song I can't stop playing, a video I cut together at 1am and forgot about until now.
This is the first post. It won't be the most interesting one, but it's the one that makes the rest possible.
Why "jasonsbalcony"
Because it's true, mostly. A lot of the good, slow parts of my week happen in a five-by-eight-foot space with a folding chair and too many pots. Seemed like as good a name as any.
More soon.
